Picture shows Ernest Alfred Thompson with the steam engine Stowe.
According to this article:
“Bought from British Railways by Lord Montague, ‘Stowe’ was for a time displayed at his motor museum at Beaulieu before moving first to the East Somerset Railway in 1973 and then the Bluebell in 1980 where it was rapidly restored to working order.”
Therefore, the picture could be at Beaulieu or possibly the East Somerset Railway dating it in the early 70’s.
One response to “Ernest Alfred Thompson and ‘Stowe’”
This definitely was taken at the Beaulieu motor museum possibly by me late 60 or early 79s. And as you can see it was raining.
